What to Do in Çıralı in 3 Days: A Step-by-Step Guide

Beach, ancient Olympos, the Yanartaş flames and a boat tour — a calm but full 3-day plan for Çıralı.

·6 dk okuma

Çıralı is a protected 3 km bay on the edge of the Olympos Beydağları National Park. Far from large resorts, it suits travellers after a calm, nature-led holiday. This three-day plan covers the highlights without rushing.

Day 1 — Beach and Ancient Olympos

Spend the morning on Çıralı Beach. The mixed pebble-and-sand shore is usually calm; from 1 May to 1 October it is loggerhead turtle nesting season, so night lighting and umbrellas on the sand are restricted.

In the afternoon walk from the southern end of the beach to Ancient Olympos. A harbour city of the Lycian League, Olympos has a theatre, baths and sarcophagi along a stream. The path is mostly flat but rocky and damp in places — wear sturdy shoes.

Day 2 — Yanartaş and an Evening Walk

Take it easy during the day; the main event is the evening. Head to Yanartaş near dusk. From the car park a stony 30-minute path climbs to the naturally burning rocks.

  • Bring a torch — the trail is unlit.
  • Wear shoes with grip.
  • The flames look most striking after dark.

For details, see our Yanartaş night-walk guide.

Day 3 — Boat Tour

Save the last day for the sea. Day boat tours from Çıralı jetty stop for swims at Olympos bay and surrounding hidden coves, usually with lunch on board. Departure is around 10–11 in the morning depending on the season.

Practical Notes

  • Stay: Çıralı leans toward pensions and bungalow options; book early in summer.
  • Getting there: About 1.5 hours from Antalya airport on a winding mountain road — drive carefully.
  • Best time: May–June and September; July–August are hot and busy.
